Meet the Artist

My name is Zoé - AKA _pinkcapri. I am a freelance illustrator and multi-media artist based in Barbados—a lover of capri suns, cats, chocolate, crochet, and chai. Since I was four, art has been my biggest passion. As a child, I was heavily inspired by early 2000s flash games.
Because of my diverse interests, I've grown curious about the direction of my style and have evolved several drawing styles that I can switch between depending on the type of work I do or the mood I’m in. I've even impressed myself with elaborate semi-realistic illustrations one moment and simplified or expressive cartoons or caricatures the next.
Inspirations and Influences
My early artwork was influenced a lot by American and Asian pop culture which I discovered at a young age, Archie Comics, Marvel and DC Comics, and animated shows like Chhota Bheem, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Kim Possible or Totally Spies, Scooby-Doo and Studio Ghibli films.
In more recent years, I've been exploring different types of mediums, being inspired by music and clothing.
Vision in Videos
In 2019 I discovered my love for videography and telling a narrative through film. It inspired me to make and edit videos, I've mostly done it for group projects but recently I have begun doing it for my channels.
As my skills developed and I grew into a competent artist, I wanted to help other aspiring artists get started on their journey by contributing to the art community with guides and tutorials
